Clothing

At Angelsofvintage  we understand the importance of providing you with the appropriate sizing information for every garment we sell.

Vintage clothing is particularly difficult to size sometimes as there often aren't labels inside, which is why we take specific measurements of all our items.

On this page you will find a guide as to how we estimate our sizes based on the measurements we take and where we take the measurements from.

We always advise that you check the measurements provided against measurements taken of your body or of items that you own, this is more likely to ensure a perfect fit. All our measurements are shown in inches.

If you require any measure just do not hesitate to contact us we will do out best to reply within 12 hours.

Clothing Size Guide

We have compiled these size charts to be a fair representation of clothing sizes. However, we advise that you use them as an approximate guideline and compare your individual measurements to those stated on each item’s product page before purchase.

Certain garments are also designed to have a more casual fit, so the measurements may not correspond exactly to the size guidelines. Where applicable this will be stated in the individual product description and the suggested fit will be indicated in the garment’s image gallery.

Please note: All our garments are measured flat

How We Measure Clothing

Please note: All our garments are measured flat

Blouses / Shirts / T-Shirts / Sweatshirts / Jumpers / Jackets / Coats

womens womens mens mens
Chest Measurement from underarm to underarm then doubled for correct sizing. You can measure this by wrapping the tape around the fullest part of your chest.
Sleeve Measurement from the shoulder to the cuff.
Raglan Sleeve Measurement from the top of the neckline to the end of the sleeve cuff. Some garments do not have a shoulder seam due to a ‘Raglan’ sleeve design, where the shoulder has a seamless curve. As there is no specific shoulder seam from which to measure the sleeve length, we measure from the top of the neckline to the end of the sleeve cuff to provide better accuracy.
Length Measurement from the shoulder to the lowest point of the hemline on the garment.
Shoulder Measurement from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. This measurement will be provided for more structured garments such as Jackets and Coats to ensure a more tailored fit.

Skirts

Waist Measurement is taken from the narrowest part of the waist then doubled for correct sizing. Where the waistband is elasticated we will measure it stretched in proportion to the garment. Sometimes an elasticated waistband can provide an allowance for a larger size if stretched a little further without distorting the shape of the garment. In this instance, we will indicate a minimum and maximum waist measurement as part of our product description. SKRIS
Hips Measurement is taken below the waist at the hip. This is only applicable to form fitted skirts.
